Jiangbei University player Tang Sheng missed a potential game-winning corner three in a crucial match, costing his team a chance to advance and leaving him haunted by the mistake. The play-in game is Jiangbei University's last chance, but a formidable opponent and mounting pressure keep Tang Sheng from performing at his best. A huge deficit and growing tensions push the team to the brink of elimination. Their coach identifies the problem and steadies the players, helping Tang Sheng let go of the past and giving the team the confidence to fight again. Jiangbei University rallies. On the final possession, Tang Sheng gets another chance at a corner three. This time, the shot falls. He finds redemption and helps his team advance.

As a devoted fan of the Golden State Warriors and Klay Thompson, I have always admired his precise three-point shooting. In the previous season's play-in game, however, the Warriors were eliminated, and Klay's poor performance drew considerable criticism. That experience inspired me to create From the Corner, a basketball short exploring a young athlete's emotional journey through pressure and self-doubt. The title From the Corner refers both to the decisive corner three and to the protagonist and his team's struggle to escape the corner of failure and doubt. Fast-paced editing and an urgent rhythm mirror the pressure they feel. Dynamic camerawork and contrasting musical passages express Tang Sheng's inner struggle on the verge of defeat and his eventual release. I hope the film gives viewers a sense of the pressure and psychological challenges basketball players face, and the passion and spirit the sport inspires both on and off the court.
